چکیده

In this report we present an extension OMDoc to the OpenMath standard that allows to represent the semantics and structure of various kinds of mathematical documents, including articles, textbooks, interactive books, courses. It can serve as the content language for agent communication of mathematical services on a mathematical software bus. We motivate and describe the OMDoc language and present an Xml document type definition for it. Furthermore, we discuss applications and tool support. Status of this document: This document describes version 1.0 of the OMDoc format, released November 1. 2000. Version 1.0 is the result of using OMDoc in various experiements and projects, stabilizes these experiences to serve as a basis for more sophisticated tools. The document type definition can be found at http: // www. mathweb. org/ omdoc/ dtd/ omdoc1. 0. dtd . The OMDoc format will continue to evolve, the next steps are to include XML Schema support and more sophisticated (authoring) tools. A development snapshot can be retrieved by anonymous CVS (see http: // www. mathweb. org/ cvs. html ) directly accessed on the web at http: // ww. mathweb. org/ src/ mathweb/ omdoc . An OMDoc representation of Mizar library

Mizar library is one of the largest database of formalized mathematics. It contains mathematical articles which were collected over almost 20 years. Even though the database is highly optimized for human access, machines, on the other hand, can hardly understand and process the data. Thus the stored knowledge cannot be manipulated at its highest potential. Therefore Mizar System can be seen as ...

Towards a Mizar Mathematical Library in OMDoc Format

Mizar is one of largest libraries of formalized mathematics. The language of the library is highly optimized for authoring by humans. Like in natural languages, the meaning of an expression is influenced by its (mathematical) context in a way that is natural to humans, but hard to specify for machine manipulation. From this point of view, it may be considered as locked up in an arcane file form...

OpenMath Technology for Interactive Mathematical Documents

New technologies such as xml, xsl and both MathML and OpenMath make it possible to bring mathematics to the Internet. Indeed, OpenMath, a markup language for mathematical content, and OmDoc, its extension to mathematical documents, open a way of communicating mathematics between computers, between software applications and over the Internet without losing information. In this paper we describe ...

Problems and Solutions for Markup for Mathematical Examples and Exercises

This paper reports some deficiencies of the current status of the markup for mathematical documents, OMDoc, and proposes extensions. The observations described arose from trying to represent mathematical knowledge with the goal to present it according to several wellestablished teaching strategies for mathematics through the learning environment ActiveMath. The main concern here is with example...

Building Content Dictionaries for Geometric Algebra in the XML Markup Language

This paper describes why and how to build Content Dictionaries for Geometric Algebra implementing in the XML markup language. Geometric Algebra is a powerful and general language available for the development of mathematical physics. Mathematical Markup Language (MathML) enables to write the XML-based language to display mathematical formulae on web browsers and OpenMath makes the text semantic...
